This coming week, new small groups are forming for 6 week studies on microaggressions. One of the first assignments for participants in the small groups will be to explore their own implicit bias. Even if you aren’t participating in a small group, you might want to check out the website for Project Implicit at Harvard University (https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/takeatest.html) and work through a couple of the questionnaires there. They don’t measure personal worth or dignity. They simply assess the associations that people have with various categories to help identify where we have all learned to interpret the world in ways that introduce the possibility of misunderstanding.
