This week, I want to make sure you are aware of some of the work that our Leadership Board is doing, both in short term projects and in long term visioning.
 
Each quarter, our leaders choose specific projects to advance in small groups. During first quarter of this year, the primary project was to develop new strategies for welcome in our church. That effort continues and August 22 will bring a 6 hour training on working across cultural boundaries, with the workshop facilitator also preaching in worship on August 23. In addition, during second quarter, our leaders added projects about outreach and staffing for our AV needs. The outreach project focuses on our digital resources like Facebook, the church website, and Zoom, to reach new people. A new online small group may form in the fall, depending on what the outreach efforts indicate might be valued. The AV staffing effort has involved broadening the number of adult volunteers we can call on when our staff is unavailable to help with worship and also increasing the number of possible staff persons to increase the likelihood of availability. If you know of anyone who might like to join the AV team, either as paid staff or as an occasional volunteer, please let a Leadership Board member know.
 
In terms of long-term visioning, the Board continues to explore relationships with other congregations near us to see how we can collaborate on ministry. Most notably, several Leaders Lunches have taken place with the leadership of the Sand Point Community UMC and plans are beginning to form that may lead to shared worship, fellowship, and mission events starting in the fall.
 
I am thankful for the dedicated and faithful work of the Leadership Board of our church. Together, let us listen for the guidance and wisdom of the Holy among us, through our leaders,
