After 8-to-5 Men’s Group

The After 8 to 5 Men’s Group faithfully meets for one hour at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday mornings on Zoom or in the Friendship Room year-round for fellowship, devotions, and a round table discussion of the devotion topic presented that morning. Members in the group take turns in presenting the devotions. Included are service, good conversation and humor, coffee and donuts, and a closing prayer. All men, including non-church members, are welcome to attend any of the meetings.

On special occasions we invite speakers from the outside to make presentations, and we often invite the women and other members of the congregation to attend these special events.

Each week we offer names of individuals who are ill or needing their spirits lifted up, and send each a greeting card signed by all members present.

Our outreach includes supporting Seattle Operation Night Watch Program headed up by Rev. Rick Reynolds. Operation Night Watch is an interdenominational Christian ministry serving the poor and homeless people in downtown Seattle. We also support them with a White Sock Drive from October through December.

Additionally, we help the church financially with related activities such as scholarships, items for the food bank, the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund for helping feed local people in need, and helping with United We Stand, a homeless tent shelter we host on our church parking lot periodically.

We welcome men in our community to join us on Thursday mornings.
